- The Trust was founded in 1960 by Sir Edmund and Louise Hillary to bring education, safe water, and better healthcare to the Everest region of Nepal.
- In April and May 2015 Nepal was struck by a series of devastating Earthquakes, and nearly 9000 people lost their lives and over 600,000 homes were destroyed.
- Key infrastructure including schools, health facilities and roads were severely damaged, leaving people homeless, without shelter, and many were left stranded, unable to get the medical care they required.
- The Himalayan Trust moved quickly and with an overwhelming amount of support, they helped the communities within the Everest region with emergency shelter, tarpaulins, tents, warm clothing, blankets, and so much more.
- The funds raised from this book will go into the next phase of rebuilding the community including schools and infrastructure to help the next generation of Nepalese children and their families.
